Washer is horrible

The washer only fills not even halfway with water, so we have to do more small loads of laundry.. This causing more electrical use as well as more water use.. Someone was not thinking when they designed this model.. Poor decision in making this washer "economy" feature... How is it saving you money when you have to run twice as many loads?

It's a great product, but I am disappointed that the washer only fills 1/2 way on a large load. It's a bigger washer, but I can't do larger loads. I don't believe it saves water in fact it probably uses more water by doing more loads to make up for having less water in the large load,which causes more use of electricity by doing more loads.

Washer only barely half fills up. Don't fill this washer full of clothes to the top because due to new, I assume, govt. requirements to save water this machine will not fill all the way and therefore does a fair job at best of washing clothes along with a "slow speed" rinse and again, half fill. Hot water mixes with cold, again due to energy star requirements so you will not get a traditional hot water wash. The washer is very loud during operation and has little capacity, especially if you want the clothes to come clean then you would only have to fill the tub half full of clothes and therefore do many, many loads, hence there goes the point of saving any water or time. Waste of money.

After reviewing our stack washer/dryer options we decided to purchase the Whirlpool unit for both quality and cost. Now that we've had some time using this product I'm very happy that we made this choice. Provides a large washer capacity, cleans the laundry better then we had expected and the drying cycle is quiet and speedy. All in all a great buy!

I purchased this machine 5 yrs ago and am replacing it today. A small piece in the motor went and we have to replace whole motor for small 10.00 piece. With labor and motor we would be paying 600.00+, that's over half the price we payed for it. Also the water levels were low, it was noisy, and I had to use multiple rinses to get the soap out of clothing! Cheaply made, top was unfinished sheet metal.

I bought this several months ago and really like it a lot. The washer is a little noisier than I would prefer, but not LOUD. Nice to have so I don't have to run up and down steps. Like the large capacity unit. It gets a good work out as I am quite active, so therefore do more laundry than the normal late, late 70's person.

I happen to agree w/Pat from Portland Or. Pat you hit the nail on the head. This washer is garbage. I have the same problem as you. And I too add extra water. Right now as I am writing this I have sheets washing but one at a time. Please fix this problem. I would love a refund on my money. I am tired of having to babysit this machine.I am as busy as everyone else. Oh and 1 more thing. There isn't a gentle cycle. Just Reg. and Heavy. I wouldn't even give this a star...I was forced to.

We bought this washer/dryer combo for a condo that my son lives in at college. He and his roommate absolutely love it. It fits the small space that they have for it, it does a great job of cleaning, and even the dryer gets things dry very quickly. It is perfect.

I have been doing my own laundry for 45 years, and this is the worst so called "washing " machine I have ever used. The water saving feature means it only fills up 1/2 way and even less for the "Rinse". The tub size is deceiving b/c it does not fill up more than 1/2 way. I do as good a job with a broom handle and a bucket. I use a liquid soap and there is still residue on clothes after the complete cycle. I always have to add extra water to help the clothes move around and actually wash. Sometimes after the first spin, I shut it off and then start it over on the wash cycle so that it will get the most water.Seems to me that the designer forgot the purpose of a washer is to wash not dampen the clothes. Sometimes there are dry spots on the clothes still.The sales person said he has had complaints on it regarding the dry spots. You may notice this washer is now the #4027. Horrible washer, dryer is ok.

I purchased my new whirlpool stack washer and dryer in March 2015, but it didn't get installed until early May 2015. I have a modified earth home, so storage space is limited. I previously had a separate washer and dryer, but they took up too much space. We had a Whirlpool stack washer and dryer put in my mother's home a few years ago, and she loves it, so I decided to give this a try. So far it has been great. Very functional, easy to use, and does a great job with the clothes. Plus it gave me extra room so that I could add a utility sink in the room.

Purchased to replace a 20 year old Magic Chef unitized washer/dryer that was much smaller. This one is larger and just does fit in the closet area of our condo. The fact that it has dual side access for the lint exhaust and water hoses really sold me on this unit. It would not have fit had it not included this feature. Few other unitized products offer it. I have seen comments about noisy motor and cleaning performance and can say that neither of these has been a problem. It is not whisper quiet, but not overly loud. Clothes come out very clean. Dryer has a large drum and dries clothes within an acceptable time frame. Try it and you'll like it.

We had a 24" at our Salon and what a difference the 27" makes. Much larger wash and dryer area. We have had this new machine for a month now and the dryer works great! We should be saving money with the quicker drying times. I do not like the fact the washer only fills half way (even set on large load) as a water saving feature. I would like to have the choice to control water level. So far the washer works great and is not noisy. I bought this model after reading several reviews. I even waited while it was on order.

Best washer and dryer I have owned, and I have been married for 50 years and have three grown children, the youngest with us now. Washer has great selection of cycles and handles large load with ease. Dryer can be set for timed drying to avoid wrinkling. The best thing is they stack so take up least possible floor space possible.

We used a combination while on vacation, and we really liked it, so we bought our own. Works great as expected, but new stupid water level requirements don't let you fill tub with clothes. Trying to figure out how to bypass that feature. Otherwise very satisfied.

I replaced my 25 year old Whirlpool combination washer/dryer with this new model. I had my doubts about it at the beginning as the washer didn't fill up like my old one. I was afraid the clothes wouldn't get clean enough without more water-but I was wrong! Our clothes get just as clean [maybe even better] and I like the automatic fabric softener dispenser. The only complaint I may have is the dryer doesn't seem to dry as well as my old model. I have to restart after the buzzer goes off for more drying time.

Pros: The washer/dryer has been working well. Uses less water than previous washer/dryer.Cons: This unit is LOUD! It can be heard throughout a small condo or apartment. Water does not fill the drum, so only small or medium size loads can be washed in washer. Two dryer cycles are sometimes needed with jeans and towels.

I bought this a month or so ago and I'm very glad I did! It fits perfectly into the space I have available, is easy to work with and gets the job done. My only issue has been with the bleach dispenser leaking bleach into the wash on loads where I did not use bleach. I'm working around that because I truly like the machine!

I bought this after years of having a side by side combination. I LOVE my new washer and dryer. It saves me half the space (now used for organizing my pantry) and is energy efficient. I have been surprised at how much can fit in a load (including a full sized comforter) and still come out clean. The washer can be a little noisy, but the dryer is extremely quiet and saves on the electricity and water bills also.It would be nice to have a manual override on the water level - seems low and with really big loads I push all the clothes under the water level to make sure they are all washed. Also would be nice to add the detergent and presoak to the washing machine as it fills up, but the water turns off when the lid is open.I would recommend this unit (and have) to all my friends.

I had to give away my brand new Maytag front loaders because the rotation was breaking the floor in my 100+ yr old house. I replaced with this set and although it is noisy, the water and energy saving features are a big plus from the last combo I bought years ago. I think they're pricy but as long as this set lasts many years, it's an ok deal.
